Best USA Photographers presents
Galen and Barbara Rowell
"Popularized 'Participating' Wilderness Photography"

Galen was an outdoors man first and picked up photography as a way to share his love for the environment. Not many photographers can claim to have a cover of National Geographic magazine one year after they enter the ranks of professional photography. Galen’s style became so unique that he was considered by most publications as the first photojournalist of scenic photography.
Galen's and Barbara's work came from participating, not from the roadside like many scenic photographers. To put in perspective, imagine a sports photographer in the huddle or at the line of scrimmage. You get a whole different viewpoint then the photographer at the sidelines. Galen made 35 journeys to the mountains of Nepal, India, Pakistan, China, Tibet, Africa, Alaska, Canada, Siberia, New Zealand, Norway, and Patagonia.
While Galen and Barbara Rowell died in an unfortunate plane crash, their 16 books and photographs remained hugely popular with consumers and publications.
As with any of the Best USA Photographers,
we ask you to follow certain rules.
1. Do not copy their work. Most
of it has been tagged and can be traced if it's used anywhere or
downloaded.
2. Please do not contact the photographers
and ask them questions that do not pertain to serious bids. Like:
Do you date your models? Can I have her phone number? Where was that
picture taken? etc.
3. If you are looking for a bidding
war, these photographers are not going to be your lowest bidders,
but they will be your BEST VALUE. In
the advertising field there is an expression - One image (photo) is worth
a million dollars. A great photograph in an ad campaign can make or break
a company. Successful advertisers know that the photographer is their
most critical decision.
