Summary: This test proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Best USA Photographers' new marketing method of building a group of specifically tailored lists and sending them invitations to look at specific photographers work is extremely effective. 100% of Group A's 57 top photographers increased their Alexa Traffic Rank by 252 percent on the average, while the 57 top photographers in Group B that received no promotion, fell an insignificant 4.9%. Of major importance was the fact that 41 of the 57 photographers in Group A gained over 100% more traffic in one month and all 57 were above what is considered a normal swing in Traffic Rank (+ or - 25%). As part of the double blind study, Group B was dived into two sections - 22 Best USA Photographers and 35 non-members of equal skill. Both sections separately averaged a 4.9% decrease in traffic. This aspect of the study asks the question, "Are portfolio web sites dead?" A portfolio web site is only good to the artist if it brings people to his or her web site or business, not just the portfolio site. This preliminary test suggests that photographers are better off with some of the newer internet marketing methods, even if they take more time. While Best USA Photographers administered the marketing methods, Alexa was responsible for the collection of all the data used. Alexa is an in dependant third party considered by internet leaders as the standard in web site data.
Comment by Randall Tomaras - Best USA Founder - This was only a small portion of the mailing list, We will not use the full list until we get new photographers in place and new programs functional. It is also only one aspect of our 10 New Marketing Components. We paid for the study because it was important for us to know what works and what doesn't. There have been major changes in marketing and the internet. We made the mistake before of holding on to old beliefs. Old beliefs now days are 12 months. Things are moving quickly.

Please note that Alexa only ranks the top 30 million out of 148 million web sites in the world. In some cases the web site was not ranked so we just place it at 30,000,000 and said over 30 mil.
