Photographers take note

Sooner or later photographers find our page. It happens when you have over 60 major keywords that are on the number one page of Google. Exposure is not our real value and you’d be making a HUGE mistake if you spent a lot of time and money just hoping that someone wants to buy what they see the first time. The web has changed. The real value that we discovered after five years as a portfolio site was our ability to develop an opt-in list of photo buyers who are interested in high quality work. This allowed us to keep in contact with photo buyers, when we have something of interest for them. Photo buyers do not always buy when they run across your site because there is no trust developed yet. Web marketing is no different than mailers in that sometimes it takes 3 or 4 contacts (mailers) before they get real interested.  We know because we spent the last three years testing this concept. Did you now that the web sites with the most sales, have less than 25% of their traffic come from the search engines? This is a major change photographers need to understand.

If you are a photographer interested in Best USA Photographers you have to go through a selection process of your peers. It is not easy and you may not get in the first time, nor the 100th time. It takes a staff and money to make our programs reality. The only reason we can do so much is that there are a number of photographers working together. Best USA Photographers is constantly walking the line between the needs of our staff, photographers and clients. For most "portfolio sites" their client is the photographer. We figured it out that the photographer does not want to wait for the customer to find him or her on Google as much as he or she wants a way to find the customer. On the flip side the customer does not want to waste time looking for mediocre photographers that risk their money.

For our members it is not just a plug and play system. It takes some work and we ask them to contribute on a regular basis. The more they contribute the more recognition they receive. We not only have Best USA Photographers but we have over 30 other sites that we can submit their photographs and writings to. It is important to understand that it is more than just paying some dues. We tried that in the past. That works, but this new method works 3,800% better. In our test market for every one customer that found us (not looker), we found 38. It is so much easier. The reason Best USA Photographers works is that we create win-win situations that neither photographers or their clients have the time or money for.

Photographers who feel they qualify are welcome to submit their web site to the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee’s recommendations are then forwarded for final steps and then approval. If approved, they will be sent the Best USA Photographers membership material that outlines steps on how to make the most of this exclusive group. This manual is always being updated because what works one day may not work the next day.

We keep our standards very high for a couple reasons: 1) the consumers who use our services demand excellence and this is a way to keep our reputation and relevance at the highest levels; 2) It is very time consuming to develop proprietary programs that generate business and give the consumer more than they expect. We can not expand our staffing time past our capabilities. 3) there are only so many leads generated and it would not be fair to the end consumers or photographer members to saturate the market.

That said, we are always concerned with improving the profession of photography. While we can not provide non-members with leads, we can offer them tips on their marketing, web site, and photography. Those photographers who feel they do not qualify but want to receive our informational newsletter and our free marketing course we encourage you to go to photogs marketing rules. While the copyright of this material is strictly enforced, Best USA Photographers is not concerned with an individual photographer trying to apply some of our tactics. The pages of information we provide is just a small fraction of what we provide our members  of Best USA Photographers.
